Now showing at: Oxfam in Huntingdon

Following my participation in Cambridge Open Studios I’m delighted to have been invited to take over the window display of the fantastic Oxfam bookshop in Huntingdon high street.

Currently showing is my red circle grid (water colour and emulsion paint on canvas, 1m x 1m) and some framed etchings.

COS exhibition snap shots

It was a great experience showing my work from home as part of Cambridge Open Studios this July, and having had the chance to visit and get to know so many other local artists too! Here are some views of my rooms.

Preparation stacking up

I’m enjoying reviewing my work and deciding on what to hang for my Cambridge Open Studios weekend in just over a month. I’m really looking forward to when I can finally start hanging the exhibition and arranging rooms with plenty of extra work for visitors to rifle through… In the meantime it’s tricky to find space to make new work with pieces stacking up while I’m deciding whether and how best to show them.

Cambridge Open Studios

I’m working hard in the background preparing to take part in Cambridge Open Studios for the first time.

As a new COS member I’ve already met fantastically supportive, friendly, and talented local artists who I would never have encountered otherwise. I’m both anxious and excited about opening my own doors to the public and looking forward to a July full of conversation and creativity, both by receiving visitors and getting out to see as many other local artists as possible.

As well as my open studios dates (week 3, the 21st and 22nd of July) I’ll be found promoting COS and showing work at preliminary events: the Cambridge Town and Country Show (9-10 June), and outside Cambridge’s Guildhall (16th and 23rd of June).

You can find out more about all the fantastic local artists taking part in COS this July here.

Here’s Winter Light 3 at Hot Numbers’ open evening last night, feeling at home in the busy/relaxed atmosphere and with an eclectic mix of other work. And excellent cake.

I’ll be setting up work at Stapleford Granary this afternoon, ready for their open studios event this weekend. The show will be open 11am till 6pm and will include painting, pottery, jewellery and other wonderful crafts. I’m looking forward to seeing what all the other exhibitors bring along!

I’m still delighted by the feedback I’ve been getting on the current exhibition of my work in Cambridge at the fantastic Espresso Library. The paintings will stay on show until the 7th of July.

If you missed it, some of the work I had on show at Chelsea Old Town Hall in June 2016.

Untitled Artists Fair

I’m busy making yet more new work to show at Untitled Artists Fair in London in a couple of weeks. The opening night is Friday 3rd of June and the fair will be open until Sunday afternoon. I’m looking forward to seeing lots of different styles of work and meeting the artists. You can download free tickets or request some direct from me via art@emilyjolley.co.uk
