'Swallow Flight' is part of a developing series of work inspired by the immersive experience of watching swallows over the banks of the river Ouse. This expressive abstract painting evokes the feeling as much as the sight of these wonderful birds revelling in their own speed, carving paths against water and sky. It is a farewell tribute to the spectacle as summer faded, and a longing to see them again.
Selected and shown at the Society of East Anglian Watercolourists 'Awash' exhibition 2022. Featured in works shortlisted for the Visual Artists Association professional artist of the year award 2023, and in the 'Following a path' pavilion, the Wrong Biennale 2023.
